What is a magazine and its purpose?

A magazine is a form of communicating with the public. There are different types of magazines which are suited to a niche market. Which means they are for a specific target audience. Magazines are mainly all set out in a similar format with the masthead at the top to show the audience exactly what it is. Not only that, but it’s the logo for the magazine itself. Additionally, magazines have cover lines to indicate what is going to be in the magazine. Lastly, the purpose of the magazine is to show people what is going on in specific sections of the media. for example; fashion or music.
